Das neue Jahr hat bereits begonnen, aber einen „kleinen“ Rückblick auf 2014 möchte ich doch noch durchführen. ♦ The new year has started already, but a „short“ review of 2014 simply has to be done.

Ein ganz gutes erstes Jahr
Sternzeit 20140510.1421 … ein kleiner foodblog startet seine Reise in die unendlichen Weiten des Kochuniversums und des Internets. Zunächst nur pragmatisch und unprätentiös benannt als michasfoodblog finden sich dann in den ersten Monaten auch Form und Stil, so das eine Identität entsteht. Und man sollte es nicht glauben, ein gewisser Erfolg stellt sich auch ein. 🙂
Ich hätte nie gedacht, gleich in den ersten 7 Monaten die Grenze von 10.000 Aufrufen zu knacken. Aber, es ist geschafft. Nicht das die Statistik im Vordergrund stehen würde – aber freuen darf man sich ja über die positive Resonanz. Meine Leserschaft besteht zum Großteil eher aus Nicht-bloggern denn aus Mit-bloggern, aber auch mit anderen foodblogs besteht inzwischen eine gute Verbindung.
86 Beiträge, weit über 100 Kommentare, inzwischen immerhin doch schon über 50 Follower auf wordpress.com und twitter, ich bin sehr zufrieden. Was als eine Art Kochbuch für mich selbst startete ist auf Interesse gestoßen, und das freut mich sehr. Vielen Dank also an alle treuen Leser und Follower an dieser Stelle! Es sind noch über 90% des verfügbaren Speicherplatzes frei, ich verspreche also es kommt noch mehr…
Ein paar Highlights
01.06. – Erinnerungen an Thailand machen mich nachdenklich
Mit ein bisschen Wehmut beschrieb ich einige meiner liebsten „Thai-Soul food“ Gerichte. Spätestens hier wurde jedem Leser deutlich, das Asiatische Küche öfters im Blog vorkommen würde. Eine Leidenschaft, die mich sicher nicht mehr loslassen wird.
19.06. – Bento Box mit Teriyaki-Huhn und deren Facebook-Folgen
Per twitter an meinen japanischen Bento-Box Lieferanten bentoandco.com mitgeteilt, und von den lieben Menschen dort auf Facebook gepostet, hatte dieser Blogeintrag folgen – und zwar die größte jemals erreichte Anzahl von Klicks insgesamt und an einem Tag auf diesem Blog. Spätestens ab dieser folgenreichen re-posting Aktion sammelten sich auch einige internationale Besucher an – viele Grüße in alle Welt und von Herzen „arigatuou gosaimaz“ nach Kyoto zu Bento&Co!

10.08. – Nasi Goreng – der beliebteste Suchbegriff
Das Web-Suchvorgänge in Malaysia und Indonesien zu Klicks auf meinem Blog führen würden, wenn es um ein dort sehr populäres Gericht geht, hätte ich mal auch nicht so gedacht. Auch insgesamt ist dieser Post derjenige mit den meisten Aufrufen durch Suchmaschinen.
31.08. – Hühnersuppe nach Mei’s Rezept (mit zarten Abwandlungen)
Nicht ganz streng den Rezeptipps von Asia-Shop Inhaberin Mei folgend, wurde diese Suppe aber trotzdem ein voller Erfolg – nicht nur geschmacklich (mmmmmh) sondern auch in Bezug auf die Beliebtheit bei den Lesern.
10.09. – Liebster award und die daraus hervorgegangene Reihe „Wie von Oma…“
Von Ninschi zum „Liebster award“ nominiert, musste ich auch die Frage nach einer Leibspeise beantworten. Ihr Blog bodyholic.at sollte übrigens unbedingt von euch besucht werden! Sie war meine erste Followerin 😉 Grüße in die Steiermark. Da mir die Antwort auf die Leibspeise schwer fiel, entschied ich mich spontan für eine Kindheitserinnerung – mit der Folge, daraus ein Reihe von Beiträgen zu entwicklen, die ich bald fortsetzen werde: „Wie von Oma…“

12.10. – Eine Rinderhüfte in Luxusausführung
Der schmunzelnd und ironisch gemeinte Vorwurf der Dekadenz gefiel mir richtig gut. Ich würde mal antworten, JA, genau so war das gedacht 😀 Einen gewissen Hang zu Luxusfood und gutem Rotwein kann ich nun mal weder leugnen noch möchte ich das. 25.10. – Salbei-Ravioli begründen die „pastamania“ auf michasfoodblog
Ich war immer schon Pasta-Fan, aber seitdem ich endlich eine gescheite Nudelmaschine zur Verfügung habe, gibt es kein Halten mehr. Überzeugt euch in der Kategorie „Pasta“ in diesem Blog davon!

16.11. – Lachs-Risotto oder Wenn Fisch in Champagner badet
Déjà-vu bezüglich Luxusfood… ein guter Teil der Flüssigkeit, üblicherweise ja Brühe oder Fond, wurde für dieses Risotto konsequent durch Champagner ersetzt. Ist halt lecker. Und passt sehr gut mit Lachs und Kerbel zusammen… 🙂
24. und 25.12. – Meilensteine!
Höchst erfreulich und perfekt getimed – an Heiligabend knackt dieser Blog die 10.000, und am ersten Weihnachtstag wurden 200 „Likes“ voll. Na, wenn das keine schönen Weihnachtsgeschenke sind!
30.12. – Huhn-Fenchel Lasagne als würdiger Jahresabschluß
Als würdigen Ausklang des kulinarischen Jahres wählte ich diese Pasta-Kreation mit ungewöhnlichen, zarten Aromakombinationen. Insbesondere die Orangen-Basilikum Emulsion hat es mir jetzt angetan, ich werde sicherlich noch andere Verwendung dafür finden und dann darüber berichten!

Natürlich haben auch die WordPress.com-Statistik-Elfen einen Jahresbericht 2014 für dieses Blog erstellt. Hier ein sehr kurzer Auszug aus dem WordPress-Jahrereport:

A quite good first year
Startime 20140510,1421 … a small Foodblog starts its journey through the endlessness of the universe of cooking and the wide space of the internet. First, pragmaticly and unpretentious called michasfoodblog only, within the first few month form and style are found and a kind of identity develops. And you shouldn’t believe it, but some kind of success also is created. 🙂
I would never thought of having the first 10,000 visits within the first 7 month of this blog. But, the milestone is reached. Not that I am only into the statistics, but a little bit of joy about this is allowed I think. My followers are more Non-blogging people than other bloggers, but also with some other blogs there’s already some connection now.
86 posts, way above 100 comments, and meanwhile more than 50 followers on wordpress.com and twitter, I am quite satisfied with that. What started as a kind of “Cooking-book” for myself was hit by interest of others, and this makes me happy. So thank you all for reading and following! There’s more than 90% of free web-space for this blog left, so I promise, there’s more to come…

With a little melancholy, I describe some of my favorite Thai-Soul food dishes here. A least at that point it got clear for the readers, that Asian kitchen will take some space in my blog. A passion, which I surely never will lose.

Tweetet to my Japanese Bento-Box Retailer bentoandco.com and reposted on Facebook by the nice people there, this blog-entry had consequences – namely that it got the most often called posts ever and on a single day on this blog. Now after this momentous action some international visitors to my blog where frequently coming back – so many dear greetings to the world and a cordially thank you „arigatuou gosaimaz“ to Kyoto and Bento&Co!
10.08. – Nasi Goreng – the most common search
That web-searches from Malaysia and Indonesia would lead to my blog, when it is about a very popular dish from there, I wouldn’t really have believed. All together this post is the one with most calls by web searches.
31.08. – Chicken soup Mei’s style (with tiny variations)
Not completely following the recipe recommendations of Asia-Shop proprietress Mei, anyhow this soup got a success. Not only by taste (mmmmmh) but also concerning the popularity.
10.09. – Liebster award and the series “As Grandma did…” that resulted from it
Nominated for the “Liebster award” by Ninschi, I had to answer the question for my favorite dish. Her blog bodyholic.at is by the way worth more than one visit! Greetings to the Steiermark in Austria 😉 she was my first follower. So having a hard time to answer the question, I decided to go for a childhood memory – and came up with a series of posts called “As Grandma did…” which will be continued soon!

12.10. – A luxury version of point steak
This ironic comment, written down with a chuckle, this would be kind of decadent, I liked it really a lot. I would probably answer YES, exactly that’s the way it was meant to be. 😀

16.11. – Risotto with salmon or When fish goes to bathe in champagne
Déjà-vu in concern on luxury food… a good part of the liquids used for Risottos normaly, namely broth or stock, is consequently replaced by champagne is this recipe. It’s simply yummy. And fits so well with the salmon and chervil… 🙂
24. and 25.12. Milestones!
Highly delightful and perfectly timed, on Christmas Eve this blog reached 10,000 calls and the on first Christmas day 200 likes have been reached. So, if that’s not some nice Xmas-presents, what else is?
30.12. – Lasagna Chicken and Fennel as worthy final of the year
As worthy final I chose a Pasta-creation with chicken and fennel as lasagna. More unusual and very delicate aromas have been in the lead here, mainly the wonderful emulsion from oranges and basil, which I am really into now. I will look for other possibilities of use of this nice emulsion and will report here!
